Q. & A. with Karen
Why did you start breeding?
After having them as pets we started getting into AKC sports and eventually into conformation, which led to breeding.
What makes your program special?
We stay educated in the best possible methods for rearing puppies and in the health of our breeding dogs. We are members of Avidog, BetterBred and AKC Breeder of Merit. Our puppies are raised with the goal of being as prepared as possible for life in their future home, starting from day one. It’s an incredible amount of work but worth it.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, blue, cream, silver, and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
von Willebrand Disease II (vWD II), Genetic Diversity Test, Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NEwS), DNA Profile, Full Embark Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
