I'm Kathy M., the breeder behind Kathy Maize located in Mayville, MI. We are dedicated to raising top-quality, loving Cockapoos, Goldendoodles and Poodles with a focus on health, temperament, and family companionship. Our puppies are raised in a caring environment where they receive plenty of love, attention, and socialization from day one. Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding through my mother and father, who have been involved in responsible dog breeding for many years. Growing up around their program gave me hands-on experience from an early age and a strong understanding of proper care, health standards, and responsible breeding practices.What makes your program special?
What makes my dog breeding program truly special is the combination of long-standing family experience, hands-on care, and a genuine passion for producing healthy, well-socialized puppies. Our program has been family-run for over 30 years, giving us a deep understanding of responsible breeding practices, temperament selection, and breed standards.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Cockapoo puppies are mini size. Poodle puppies are toy size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Cockapoo puppies include brown, black, and buff. Poodle puppies include black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Kathy
Kathy has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Kathy partners with them to find the best puppy match.
“Once our puppies reach 8–11 weeks of age, we begin the final placement process where each puppy is carefully matched with the most suitable family. At this stage, we take time to evaluate each puppy’s developing temperament, energy level, and personality traits, along with the lifestyle and preferences of each prospective home.”
Price
“Our puppies are priced based on the high level of care, health standards, and early development they receive. Each puppy Receives Age-appropriate vaccinations, and regular deworming to ensure a healthy start in their new home. For AKC Poodles, most of them will be AKC registered. Each puppy listing will specify whether the puppy is AKC registered or not. A $250 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve any puppy. The deposit is the same for all breeds, sizes, and colors, and will be applied toward the total purchase price.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. After talking with Ms. Kathy and seeing pictures of my future pup, all of a sudden Michigan didn’t seem that far away. I flew from Georgia and made the drive to pick him up, and I can honestly say every mile was worth it. I’ll admit, I was a little nervous because I had never bought a puppy from a breeder before and didn’t really know what to expect. I worried that my inexperience would show or that I might miss something important. Ms. Kathy quickly put those worries to rest. She was patient, honest, and always happy to answer my questions, making me feel confident that I had made the right decision. When I finally met my puppy, the first thing I noticed was how healthy he looked and felt. His coat was incredibly soft, and it was clear he had been well cared for and given a wonderful start in life.
