



I'm Cheri F., the breeder behind Kawako Shiba Inu located in Amboy, WA. Kawako only breeds AKC Shibas with phenomenal temperaments, DNA & OFA health certification and championship qualities. Our experience produces fabulous pets, fun show dogs and enthusiastic performance Shibas. Our dogs are raised holistically for ultimate health and longevity.

Cheri has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

“Price includes first distemper/parvo vaccine, microchip registration & AKC limited registration, two months of insurance and free unlimited Shiba specific training in obedience & manners. Deposits are only accepted after ample communication & home visit. Pups are only reserved for those with a paid deposit. Deposit is $500.”

Lola is a demure female with a goofy side. She is being shown in both the breed ring and in performance events. Lola is black factored so can produce black, sesame and red .

River is awesome. Everyone loves her. She's very sweet and non demanding and fairly obedient by nature which is nice. Good ratter and hunter. Fabulous mother who teaches her babies to accept gentle disciple like a good mother does. We are working on getting her Record Of Merit (ROM) for number of champions produced.

Keech is amazing. He has the sweetest most gentle soul. He is a very special boy to me. He also has very valuable unique genes and can only produce sesame when bred to a black/tan. It's super cool. Pictures do not do this boy justice. To know him is to love him. We are working on getting his Record of Merit for number of champions produced.

Gingie is just a yearling so will be in training, being shown and will be completing her health tests soon. She is an active, gregarious typical self centered little diva. She gets along with other dogs and loves the kitties. She looks very similar to her half brother Natsu. Ginger can produce red, sesame and black.

Peanut is a very accomplished Shiba and descendent of many, many champion & OFA certified Kawako Shiba Inus before her. She has UKC & IABCA championships on the front of her name and has advanced Barn Hunt & Scenting titles and Canine Good Cititzenship and Temperament certificates and she is fully OFA health tested. She has a very willing to please, a fast learner and enjoys participating in dog sports plus she is a great companion, always happy and ready for adventures.

Not only sweet, gentle and playful Aqua Girl is a stunning beauty as well. She has only done the official breeding tests of dentition and knees but will complete the other 7 tests when she is 2. She will most likely be bred to Natsu for a black & sesame litter.

Kuro was a true blessing from above. He was an amazing, long lived, healthy, fabulous male who lived to 17 years of age on our farm and was never sick a day in his life. Through frozen semen Kuro STILL produces incredible beautiful puppies for show and pets. Kuro is our all time favorite sire of pets.

Cheri has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Dentition
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
