I'm Daniel S., the breeder behind KD Sweet Southern Danes located in Montgomery, TX. We are lifelong dog enthusiasts, and we’re excited to share our passion and purpose with others through our breeding program. Our dogs are members of our family and are right by our side for daily life. Our experience with them inspired us to share their affectionate personalities with other loving families!

Why did you start breeding?
We got into breeding through our love of our pet and first Great Dane Ms. Pepper Potts.What makes your program special?
What makes our program special is our relationship with our dogs, and our prospective families who purchase from us. We believe in health testing and improving on the breed and our blood lines with every breeding. Our dogs all live in our house or in a guardian home where they are truly a member of the family and adequately loved and cared for like they should be.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include chocolate, blue brindle, mantle merle, brindle, fawn, blue, harlequin, mantle, merle, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Daniel has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Litter update on 06 Mar. •…The puppies have all hit 8 weeks and are all over 20 pounds. We have 1 left her name is Kaya and she is the only solid black in this video with a white chest. The puppies love being normal dogs.

Litter update on 17 Feb. •Puppies are 6 weeks today and will receive their first round of shots today. They are big weighting 16-17 pounds already. They will get to go outside for the first time on Wednesday. Yaaay videos will be posted of their first trip outside.

Litter update on 12 Feb. •Week 5 photos were taken and updated, 5th day of wormings completed today.

Litter update on 11 Feb. •…Liter turned 5 weeks old yesterday, they are on day 4 of a 5 day worming. Everyone is fat, happy, and learning. They have discovered their velociraptor teeth and are enjoying playing with toys. Recall is on point, everyone is using the litter box with around a 80 percent success rate. Updated photos will be posted tonight.

Litter update on 30 Jan. •…Puppy Mush, Puppy Mush, Puppy Mush has been introduced. Everyone is growing, weights are above expectations, they have all found their voices and playful natures. Litter box is being introduced this week to start potty training. Curriculum will begin this week with feeling different walking surfaces, different sounds, and toys will be introduced.

Grizz is gentle, smart, full Euro, and a total Meat Head. He is literally Scooby Doo if you put him in the truck with you he is gonna ride in your lap the whole ride unless you have a sunroof.

Freya is so freaking Beautiful she is a wild child fancy marked Mantle. I think her wild side comes from her Pie Bald gene. She is friendly, intelligent, sassy, mouthy, all rolled into one. She is like having a teenage daughter and then next day a toddler at the same time. She will grow out of it though.

Parent health testing
KD Sweet Southern Danes reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Great Danes.
Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
