I'm Kendra H., the breeder behind Bois D’Arc Leonbergers located in Manchester, TN. We understand the responsibility of purposefully breeding in order to do better for the breed and the families that love them!

Why did you start breeding?
I have loved working with dogs my entire life. I fell in love with the Leonberger breed when I got my first puppy in 2017. They are exceptional working dogs that love working and just being part of the family. Again, my program is complete built around bettering the breed with each breeding. My girls do obedience, scent, and confirmation.What makes your program special?
We are occasional breeders of AKC Leonbergers in middle Tennessee. All of our breeding girls are health tested and live in our home. We breed for confirmation, health and temperament with the intent to better the breed with each breeding. Litters are raised in our home with our other dogs. We use the puppy culture program and with each litter we continue to learn and are improving our program continuously. As a breeder, I take my responsibility of making sure that my puppies are placed in exceptional homes and will take back any dogs that I bred at anytime in their life.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are reddish brown. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Price
"All puppies are AKC registered; wormed; 1st round of vaccines; microchipped; leash and collar. Once the puppies are a week old, I will take the deposit and the remaining amount is due upon receipt of the puppy."

Moose is a large happy adolescent with substantial bone and typical male temperament. He is not a super active leonberger. He loves his toys and is always happy. He is AKC registered. His health testing will be completed when he is old enough, His birthday is April 14, 2024.

About Eve
Eve is a female Leonberger. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Kendra decided to make her part of their program. Kendra has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
