Meet the breeder

I'm Miranda H., the breeder behind Kenmont Kennels located in London, KY. We choose our dogs for their loving personalities and intelligence. All our dogs are AKC registered and genetically clear of diseases and disorders. We do OFA testing on hips and elbows. Puppies are vaccinated, vet checked, and dewormed before going home with puppy kit and genetic health guarantee.

Q. & A. with Miranda

  • Why did you start breeding?

We did research for years before deciding to purchase our current stud, Kaiser. We made sure to choose healthy genetics and good lines. Our current dam, Cici, hit all those checkboxes as well. Aussies have made a profound difference in our lives, and we want to provide quality dogs that better the breed to other families.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are extremely affectionate and intelligent. We're talking almost too smart for their own good! They're versatile enough to be working farm dogs or family pets. Our stock trains easily and most importantly, is healthy!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red & white, black & white, black, red merle, blue merle, red, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

When I began my search for a service dog prospect, I knew it was about more than just finding a pet; it was about finding a partner to help me with my medical issues. What truly made the process so special was the breeder's incredible empathy and deep understanding of what a service dog prospect needs. They were patient and willing to answer all of my hard questions about their bloodlines and temperament, and their dedication to finding the right puppy to match my specific medical needs made me feel completely confident. When the day finally came to bring him home, his calm demeanor and keen intelligence stood out, making it clear he was the one. He was quick to learn, surprising me every day with his ability to pick up new commands and cues, a testament to the traits he possesses that are essential for a service dog. But more than that, he has a gentle and loving nature. He would snuggle up against me, his soft fur a comfort after a long day, and his presence has filled our home with so much laughter and warmth. He has a unique way of looking at me, as if he understands exactly what I'm feeling, and I am already so grateful for the peace of mind he brings. Bringing this puppy into my life wasn't just about gaining a new best friend; it was about gaining a partner who will be with me every step of the way. He is a constant reminder of hope and strength, and I am so grateful for the companionship he has brought. If you're considering an Australian Shepherd, prepare for your heart to be completely stolen by these remarkable and loving creatures.
