I'm Nicole D., the breeder behind Kindred Kennels located in Jenison, MI. At Kindred Kennels we strive to raise healthy, well adjusted pups that will be the perfect fit for any family. Our adult dogs are health tested before breeding, pups are raised with Early Neurological Stimulation, various forms of socialization, and as much love as they can take before going home.
Q. & A. with Nicole
Why did you start breeding?
I was raised with dogs, and around breeding and puppies from a young age. We decided to have our first litter a little over 5 years ago because we had two dogs who we absolutely adored and wanted to combine both their personalities for the perfect pups. They are since retired, and we breed Standard Poodles now, health and temperament are first priority, beautiful colors are a close second.
What makes your program special?
We start early with socialization and Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and continue those ideologies throughout the pup’s time in our home. We do temperament testing (Volhard) at 7.5 weeks old. This helps with placement of the pups, but also is insight for the new families into how best their pup will learn/train, what activities they might excel at, and where they may need extra training.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, brown, parti, and phantom. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
