Kindred Spirit Danes

Laura O.

Breeder of Great Danes

Meet the breeder

I'm Laura O., the breeder behind Kindred Spirit Danes located in Newark, DE. Our dogs are bred for temperment and health with added focus on structure and athleticism. Our goal is to produce Great Danes that are suitable for the conformation ring, performance sports, and, most importantly, in their family's home. The puppies are raised in the center of a very busy household with cats and ferrets, using the Puppy Culture program, ENS, and rules of 7. We want to send home a confident, stable, friendly puppy who is ready to become a treasured member of their new family.

Q. & A. with Laura

  • Why did you start breeding?

A very good friend was looking for a co own home for a girl from her litter. When we bred her, I fell in love with the whole whelping and raising puppies experience. Being able to give puppies a solid foundation for their new families to build on is incredibly rewarding. We want to produce puppies that are the best of both sire and dam. I believe preservation breeding is vital if we are to maintain the breed's integrity.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include mantle merle, harlequin, mantle, merle, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
