Meet the breeder

I'm Sheila K., the breeder behind King's Miniature American Shepherds located in Tonopah, AZ. Each of our dogs has brought so much happiness to our family throughout their lives. We work hard to provide dogs that are going to bring you that same joy. We are always striving to improve our beloved breed. We focus on improved health, temperaments, conformation, longevity and matching puppies based on the specific needs of your family.

Q. & A. with Sheila

  • Why did you start breeding?

We have been raising and breeding AKC Miniature American Shepherds since 2017. Our family has always enjoyed herding breeds and intelligent dogs that are a pleasure to raise and train and they make wonderful companions but have enough drive and energy to go on those fun adventures.
  • What makes your program special?

We strive to breed healthy, happy and intelligent puppies that are going to fit well into your lives. We pride ourselves in helping you find the right match and love keeping in touch with our customers over the years! All of our puppies come UTD on age-appropriate vaccines and deworming. We supplement with raw ingredients and kelp. We have children at home and hired hands that help us socialize our puppies on a daily basis. We will also be offering training at an extra cost.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black tri, red tri-color, red merle, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Grateful to have found King Family Ranch. It was a great experience working with and being guided in this process by Sheila. Accessible to communicate, flexible with meeting times and locations, detailed recommendations and what to expect during travel with our new puppy and care, attentive to following-up. Our new family member is healthy, lovable, friendly, full of energy, playful, a great companion and guardian. We are thankful for Herold, he is perfect, our son’s happiness is priceless❤️

Sheila and Sean were openly communicative and thorough with the adoption process! They are kind hearted and very responsive to our questions. They educated us on adequate care and what to expect. Parental information was provided in great detail as well! Most of all, Sheila and Sean were EXTREMELY accommodating with last minute plans - TYSM! We adopted a new family member into our household ❤️

Our first time working with a breeder and we were thrilled with Sheila and King Family Ranch. Our circumstances were a bit different as we were getting an older puppy, 8 months, and traveling from out of state. Sheila answered all of our questions, which were many and varied. We met halfway between our homes and took ownership of our beloved “Tully”. Now 2 months later, she is part of our family. We get constant compliments on her disposition, looks and smarts. We are looking forward to many adventures with her.
