Meet the breeder

I'm Anne M., the breeder behind Kizmit Farmz located in Stockton, MO. At Kizmit Farmz, we love everything about Miniature American/Miniature Australian Shepherds! It is this love and passion for the breed that first inspired us to contribute to and improve the breed through thoughtful and intentional breeding practices. We are state registered hobby and show breeders focusing on superior health, temperament and confirmation in our puppies. We achieve these goals by genetically testing our dogs to ensure strong genetic lines free of common breed ailments in both parents prior to breeding. Next, we make sure our dog's temperaments are well-suited to family life and to one another, ensuring you an even-tempered partner-in-crime. Last, but not least, we actively participate in AKC confirmation & rally shows (Miniature American Shepherd) and ASDR confirmation & rally shows (Miniature Australian Shepherd). A side note on the breed title - they are the same dog, they just have a different title depending upon their registry, in our case Miniature American Shepherds through AKC and Miniature Australian Shepherds through ASDR. If you'd like to learn more about any of our parents, their puppies, or our program feel free to reach out anytime, you know we love talking Mini's!

Q. & A. with Anne

  • Why did you start breeding?

We began breeding after falling head over heals in love with our first MAS! Once we realized how amazing this breed is, we knew we without a doubt that we wanted to help this breed grow through careful and thoughtful breeding practices. To give you an idea of what this looks like for us, each of our dogs are an active and integral part of our family which spans from competing together in the show ring to just hanging out watching TV together. When it comes to our puppies, each litter is hand delivered in my bedroom, where I carefully watch over the litter and their mom for the first few weeks of life. Once our pups transition from new born puppies, to toddler puppies they move to the main part of our house where they have a dedicated puppy room with access to an outdoor play yard via a doggy door. They also explore the main part of our home where they are pre-loved by our kids and harassed by our cat. We feel this lifestyle lets our puppies have a safe home environment where they are exposed to all the normal sounds and activities of a busy household, which will make their transition home to you as smooth as possible.
  • What makes your program special?

Let me start by saying our dogs are spoiled family members who take center stage in our lives! We place the highest priority on their physical and emotional health. We conduct DNA testing prior to breeding, we feed Hill's Science Diet along with quality vitamins and probiotics, and we engage in age appropriate mental & physical stimulation and ongoing training all to help ensure we are producing the healthiest, happiest puppies around! We truly love what we do!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Miniature American Shepherd puppies include red & white, black & white, red tri-color, black tri, black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include blue merle, black tri, red tri, red merle, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Anne was so knowledgeable and kept me updated every step of the way. My Winnie is beautiful and so loving. Anne already had Winnie partially house trained. I couldn’t be happier to have my Winnie!

Anne responded quickly and kept us updated throughout the entire process. She answered all of our questions and the process was very seamless and easy! We are in love with our fur baby Oscar, our family is finally complete! We will definitely be back next year to get a friend for Oscar!

Anne was awesome to work with and we are loving our new addition to our family. Anne made the process seamless, great communication and very quick turn around to pick up our new family member. She provided all of the essentials for a smooth transition and really seems like our pup was well socialized and really had a good base of training already when we brought her home. We couldn’t be happier and strongly recommend Anne and Kizmit Farmz if you’re considering a new puppy!! Thank you so much!

Anne was so very helpful in the process of getting my Australian shepherd. She answered and continues to answer all my questions. While my puppy was at Kizmit Farmz before I could adopt him I can tell that he got exceptional care. Anne is very knowledgeable in breeding and how to raise puppies. I would recommend Kizmit Farmz to anyone!

We highly recommend Anne if you’re looking for an ASM puppy. She always responds immediately with any questions you may have and sends you updates on your puppy while waiting for adoption. Our puppy was well prepared to come to our home due to her allowing the puppies to experience daily life in her home. When we met her and her husband to get our puppy we found them to be professional and very nice people and they really love what they do. If you are looking for a breeder, look no further!

Anne was so nice and easy to talk to! She responded fast and sent me pupdates every week! She is so kind too. As soon as I reached out about Bear, formerly Baxter, she asked if I wanted to FaceTime her to be able to meet him! She was very helpful in giving me all the information possible, and was able to meet me halfway between our locations to get him! She made the process feel so easy and really helped me and my husband understand the little things along with the big things. Even after we got Bear, she said we could reach out anytime with any questions we had or if we just wanted to send her pictures or videos of him! It’s so nice to see how she cares for them even when they’re out of her care :)
