Meet the breeder

I'm REBECCA K., the breeder behind Knight's Golden Acres located in Amherst, VA. Healthy genetics and good joints, ensuring the best quality in my puppies. Q. & A. with REBECCA

  • Why did you start breeding?

My love for Golden Retrievers began in childhood. My mother was a dedicated breeder, and I grew up surrounded by these wonderful dogs, learning firsthand about their gentle nature and incredible loyalty. This passion has stayed with me my entire life. Now, as a breeder myself, I am committed to continuing her legacy by raising healthy, happy puppies that perfectly represent the beloved Golden Retriever breed.
  • What makes your program special?

The heart of our Golden Retriever program is a simple belief: our dogs are family first. We are deeply committed to their health and well-being, and it shows in the way we raise our litters. Our mothers are our cherished pets, living and playing with us in our home. This allows us to provide them with the best care and a stress-free environment, which directly benefits the puppies. We also make sure that each puppy gets plenty of one-on-one attention, ensuring they grow into well-adjusted, confident, and loving companions.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from REBECCA

REBECCA has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

REBECCA partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

"PUPPY MATCHING POLICIES Order of Priority Deposits determine priority. Families who placed deposits earlier have the first choice of puppies. Puppy Assessment We evaluate each puppy’s health, temperament, and behavior as they develop (typically beginning at 2–5 weeks). Buyer Assessment To find the best match, we review each buyer’s household, lifestyle, experience, and preferences. This may be done by video call, photos, or an optional home visit. Matching Criteria Matching considers activity level, experience with dogs, presence of children or other pets, living situation (apartment vs. house), training goals, and any special needs or preferences expressed by the buyer. Temperament Expectations Based on the parents’ temperaments, we expect puppies in this litter to share similar traits. With consistent training, socialization, and nurturing at home, each puppy can become an excellent companion suited to its matched family. Final Assignment Around 4–5 weeks each puppy will be assigned to a buyer based on the assessments above. Buyers will be notified by phone or email and given details about their puppy. Communication & Flexibility We aim for a transparent, collaborative process. If a buyer and breeder cannot agree on a match, we will work with the buyer to find the best alternative within this litter or the next available option."

We’ve had our puppy from Rebecca for five days and are already blown away by her temperament and behavior. She is sweet, calm, and was immediately comfortable in her crate. For a young puppy, she has truly been a joy. Our puppy just had her first vet visit since coming home and received glowing health reviews—no worms, no giardia, and no concerns. It’s clear Rebecca raises her puppies thoughtfully, with careful attention to both their health and emotional development. As a first-time adult dog owner, I had many questions, and Rebecca was incredibly supportive and responsive. She even shared helpful reading and resources. I would wholeheartedly recommend Rebecca and have already encouraged friends and family to get one of her puppies.
