I'm Teresa J., the breeder behind Lake Gaston Goldens located in Chesapeake, VA. My program begins with extensive health clearances of parents and providing healthy, happy, well-rounded pups to loving homes. I cherish each of my dogs and puppies, and I do everything we can to make sure that they get the best lives possible. That includes everything from choosing healthy parents with good temperaments, to proper socialization and daily care, to placing them in loving homes with wonderful families. I strive to provide each of my puppies and their families with a truly positive experience!
Q. & A. with Teresa
Why did you start breeding?
We have bred farm animals for several years and I’ve always wondered about breeding dogs so I contacted a breeder, who became my mentor. I helped her and a few other breeders whelp litter, read books, asked questions, attended puppy evaluations and conformation shows, met prospective families, and witnessed the lifetime commitment of breeders before deciding to be a breeder.
What makes your program special?
It’s special because it’s mine, I am ethical and will never knowingly breed an undesirable trait. I research to the best of my ability the health, temperament, and soundness of both the sire and dam. I can guarantee the puppies will be socialized, loved, healthy and happy while in my care. I also acknowledge that the pups are a lifelong commitment and that I am always there for them.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
