Miss Rivers munchkins were really enjoying the big play one! They explore in a much more methodical way but are just as bold and confident as their half siblings. I had to be silent and move quietly because they would flock right to me the second I made my presence known. Gotta say that makes ya feel special! I love seeing what items they explore first. For these munchkins it was what ever I was standing on and then they’d grow bored and head out. Some went for the tunnel, others the rocks, others they found pinecones to carry or siblings to wrestle others it was tasting the grass. Every munchkin explore the world in their own unique way just like we do. Some get caught by shiny and new things, others new smells, and others tastes.

The munchkins have graduated to the big play pen. Maddi’s munchkins pictured here were having an absolute blast and hit the ground running both literally and metaphorically. There was no worry at all just instant “ohhh yeah let’s play!” The only problem was I had to be dead silent and still because the second I said anything or moved they’d abandon their adventures to come say hi to me! Not a bad problem by any means but it did make it difficult to get cute videos. I hope yall enjoy! Rivers munchkins will have a video out soon as well! Also the cute music somehow got stripped so if you wanna hear it head to instagram:)

It was meet a new animal day today! All the munchkins got introduced to Miss Briar the horse today. They were quite fascinated with her. I’m pretty sure they all said “whoa that’s a BIG dog” some were a little nervous to start but they all ended up coming to the fence to say hi before I rode away.

We were working on loud noise training today. I was racing the rain today and thought I had it on video but only had it on camera. Needless to say the munchkins didn’t mind and were annoyed that I dared to stay outside the kennel space to give them a safe area to retreat if they needed too (and not trip me in the process). We typically start this indoors where they are very comfortable and then we move it outdoors because the sound and vibration changes when you’re in a closed space to when you’re in an open space. Why is loud noise training a smart idea? Well it starts to teach the dog loud and unknown noises don’t mean scary things are about to happen or a lions gonna jump out and eat them. We start with small less loud things and slowly increase in size, sound and vibration. Did you know dogs are incredibly sensitive to vibration? Loud sounds always have vibration to them in one form or another! This is also one of the reasons why a lot of dogs are very scared of stuff like fireworks. A very loud boom, a bright sound and a large amount of vibration especially from above is terrifying for a lot of dogs. Some dogs will never be very comfortable with loud sounds or vibrations. But we do our best to set our puppies up for success as much as we can especially because we like our dogs to go with the Service dog route. Some of our puppies are lucky enough to go on to be PTSD Service dogs for fellow veterans and that requires them to be incredibly steady with loud noises, weird sounds and big vibrations. While they’re training and exposure will by no means be complete when they leave they will at least have a solid foundation to build on in their new roles!

The munchkins are rocking the doggie door!! They are all starting to go outside to go to the bathroom, they now meet us with waggin tails and such excitement you can’t help but be happy when you see them. From here on out it gets more and more fun as their personalities really start to shine!

Lindsey B.
Miss Maddi’s munchkins had their welping box opened today and they said “hold my milk I’m going to find mom” and they took off. They are little chunky moneys and they know right where the food is at all times! Which is even more impressive when you realize they are extremely near sighted right now (they won’t get full vision until 4 months old!) and navigating only with their ears and nose at this point. They have zero depth perception. They did however get lost as soon as mom decided to go outside so we had t help them back near the front of the whelping box where they then decided that was enough exercise and curled up to sleep.

Lindsey B.
We opened up the whelping boxes and Miss Rivers munchkins are a ready to explore!!! I could barely get the front off before little ones were checking out the new are!!! I’m always amazed by their curiosity and confidence considering they barely have any eyesight as they are extremely near sighted with zero depth perception right now. They won’t get full eyesight until 4 months old. They have excellent noses, and hearing though which makes them really fun to watch explore!

Lindsey B.
I just realized I forgot to share this in here. Oops. Maddi’s and River’s litters are both shown! Miss Rivers and Miss Maddi’s munchkins had a lot to say this morning while we were cleaning their whelping boxes. They were not appreciative of our efforts, or maybe they were complaining about the milk bar being closed while we worked? Their eyes and ears are open and they are waddling!! Things get way more fun from here on out. Their eyes are incredibly weak in sight right now (they don’t get full eye site until they are 4 months old) but their hearing and ability to smell are their strongest senses so they are extra vocal as they learn how to navigate with their new senses and get those pesky legs going in the right directions.

Golden Retriever
About Bubbles
Miss Bubbles is an absolute awesome dog. She’s incredibly human focused and is always the first to come seek me out when she’s running while we work horses. She settles right down in the house with a fantastic off switch and she’s incredibly good at puppy dog eyes to beg treats but never gets overbearing. She’s incredibly motivated by food which makes training a breeze. She has a medium toy drive and will retrieve happily.
Good health testing

Golden Retriever
About River
Miss River is a fantastic dog with lots of hunt drive. She naturally takes direction from the handler and is incredibly clear headed. She’s a snuggler too. She has a wonderful off switch that allows her to be out with us all day with the horses or working or skills and then come in and relax on the couch. Her puppies should be puppies that can go in any direction from wonderful companions to service and hunting dogs.

About Maddi
Miss Maddi is all love. She has a medium retrieval drive and a high willingness to please. She loves everyone she meets and would work well in therapy and service work. She’s a dog that is always there waiting for you and wants to ensure you’re right there enjoying the day with her.

About Ranger
Mr. Ranger is a fantastic gentleman. He has a high retrieval drive but a great off switch. He loves hanging out with us all day when we are working horses. He’s happy to play fetch and chase a rabbit that may cross his path. He’d make a fabulous hunting dog. He’s intelligent but kind hearted and a total bundle of love. He wines in happiness when he returns with his retrievals and he has the most expressive face. He brightens our day every single day. He is quick to learn new tasks and we know he’ll pass that on to his pups.

Awesome experience with Lindsey ant Legacy Ranch. She answered all of our questions and gave adequate time for us to choose our puppy. She genuinely cares for her dogs and litters. The updates were great and she as integrity that many breeders lack. The puppy is doing great! My only complaint is not about Legacy but it's about the fees charged by the Good Dog platform when you use a credit card for payment. I use a CC for protection on the back end and they seem to want to capitalize on it. I u destiny making a profit but in my opinion it was a steep charge.

Working with Lindsey was an amazing experience. She was very patient and responsive every step of the way. She had no problem answering any of our questions and providing tons of information and resources. We’ve only had our little girl home for a few hours and already know that she’s perfect for us. I would work with Lindsey again without a second thought; can’t recommend her enough!

We had a great experience working with Lindsey @ Legacy Ranch Golden Retrievers and would recommend this breeder to other families looking for a great dog! Lindsey was always very responsive as I thought of more questions regarding bringing a new puppy home and I appreciated her guidance as we were getting ready for our sweetheart! More importantly, Lindsey prepared the puppies for their new home by making sure they were well on their way with potty training and using a dog door, and I appreciated how organized she was with paperwork when we arrived to pick up Huckleberry (fka Howard). This was a great experience overall and we are very excited to have this little guy as part of our family! Thank you Lindsey!
