This weekend is one of our favorite milestones here at Lenhart Goldens—**visitor weekend!** 🐾💛 Our Independence Litter is excited to welcome families who have been patiently waiting for this special moment. There is nothing quite like seeing those first connections happen... tiny tails wagging, puppy kisses, and watching each puppy's unique personality begin to shine. We've spent the past several weeks pouring our hearts into raising these little ones through daily socialization, early neurological development, puppy curriculum, confidence-building activities, and lots of love. 🐾 Another week, another set of milestones! 🐾 It's amazing how much can change in just a few days. This week, our Independence litter is checking off two big developmental milestones: ✅ Learning to use a potty tray. ✅ Transitioning from puppy mush to soaked kibble. While accidents are still part of the learning process, introducing a designated potty area now helps puppies begin making the connection that there is an appropriate place to eliminate. They're not house-trained at this age, but these early lessons help create the building blocks for easier potty training when they join their forever families. Mealtime is evolving, too! As their tiny teeth continue to come in, they're becoming more capable of chewing soaked kibble instead of relying on a mushy formula mixture. This transition helps strengthen their jaws, introduces new textures, and prepares their digestive systems for the next stage of weaning. 🥣🐾 **A New Milestone at Lenhart Goldens!** 🐾🥣 Our puppies are officially **3.3 weeks old** and we are beginning one of the exciting steps in their development journey — introducing their first taste of mushy food! 💛 Today they explored a mixture of high-quality canned puppy food softened with puppy formula, creating a soft, easy-to-eat meal as they begin learning that food doesn’t only come from mom. 🐶✨ At this age, it’s not about replacing mom’s milk overnight — it’s about **building confidence, introducing new textures, developing coordination, and preparing their little bodies for the gradual weaning process.** Of course, the first few meals are always an adventure… there are puppies who lick, puppies who walk through it, puppies who wear it, and puppies who wonder why their siblings are so messy! 😂🐾 These early experiences are part of our daily puppy curriculum at Lenhart Goldens.
