I'm Jean Marie L., the breeder behind Leslie Beagles of Leslie Farm located in Harrison, AR. All of our Beagles have excellent champion show and hunting bloodlines.

Q. & A. with Jean Marie

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our first Beagles came to us in 2019. Raised on our farm, they enjoy their rabbit run and rides in the truck or side by side. We breed our dogs to ensure optimal health, temperament, and adherence to breed standards.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are raised on our farm and enjoy a 1/2 acre fenced run and leashed excursions to explore other areas of the farm. Their runs are temperature controlled with indoor and outdoor areas. They are socialized to humans, cattle, chickens, and other dogs.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include 13-inch and 15-inch sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black red and white, blue tan and white, and black tan and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

While searching for the perfect addition to our family we came across Jean on GoodDog. She responded right away and was very helpful right from the beginning. We were so thrilled we ended up adopting two of her Beagle pups, Daniel and Henry! Jean posted frequent updates on the puppies as the weeks passed as well as videos. She gave us an update after the boys’ first vet appointment as well. She began potty training with them which helped us to continue with that. Meeting to pick up the pups was easy and Jean even went out of her way to make our travel distance a little less. She and her husband brought us the pups with many essentials to get us going…i.e. a few toys, chews, food, puppy pads, and a blanket each for comfort. She provided us with a folder with their AKC registration and vet report as well as other helpful resource pamphlets. She even followed up shortly after to make sure things were going well. It is apparent Jean truly loves these pups and gave them a great start in life. Thank you to Jean, Tom, Charlie, and Bonnie for our new loving boys!

I had been searching for the right Beagle but kept coming across hunting-line Beagles, which wasn’t what I wanted. Then, I found Leslie Beagles on Good Dog, and it was exactly what I was looking for! Seeing the pictures and stories of Leslie Beagles, I immediately knew this was the right fit. From the very beginning, Jean was incredibly responsive and guided me through everything. She is not just a great breeder but also a wonderful person who genuinely loves and cares for her puppies. Throughout the entire process, she kept me updated with regular pictures and information about Theo, making the experience smooth and reassuring. Jean’s knowledge about Beagles and puppy care is exceptional. She patiently answered all my questions—before and after I brought Theo home—without hesitation. Even now, she continues to offer guidance whenever I need it. I truly appreciate her dedication and support. If you’re looking for a responsible, knowledgeable, and caring Beagle breeder, I highly recommend Leslie Beagles. Theo is a great puppy, and I am so fortunate to have found him and Leslie Beagles!

This was the most amazing breeder and puppy experience I've ever had. I was so impressed by the constant updates and the general upbeat caring nature of the breeders while conversing and meeting. You can tell the puppies are brought up with care and love, acclimated in many ways to make the transition easier on both owners and animals. I lost my beagle at 11 yrs old suddenly in March. She followed me everywhere and had a way of staring at me that simply emanated constant love. In ways, she was my support animal, and I wasn't sure I was ready, but... One morning, I woke up sad and missing my beagle, wanting to browse. The first puppy I saw was "Miss Emma" the blue beagle, a color I'd never seen, she was rare and stole my heart immediately, but more than that... Emma was the name of the Beagle I lost. I felt like she was telling me it was 'okay' somehow, silly as it may be. The puppy is named Evie now and she's absolutely everything I imagined and more with a whipsmart, loving and stout little personality. She fits perfectly with my two weiner dogs, adored through and through. Thank you so much for helping to heal my heart, filling it with beagle love again.

Jean Marie was wonderful to interact with. This is my first dog as an adult and answered all questions quickly and helpfully. She made transportation easy and sent us on our way with a beautiful puppy. Little Clara is smart and well behaved for such a little girl. I’d recommend Jean Marie to anyone.

It was pleasure to work with Jean Marie. She is very responsible and walked us through every step. She always was in touch and very patient with us ( since it was our first puppy I had lots of questions and concerns). Now Joe is very happy with us and we are very happy with him.

Jean Marie breeds and raises beautiful beagles with an extraordinary amount of dedication, love and professionalism. From start to finish our family felt Jean extended all of these things to us as well through her energy and our communication; there was no better choice out there for us. We were drawn to “Miss Mae,” one of two Blue Tri-Colored puppies and my husband reached out to reserve her. Jean shared her excitement when my husband once owned a beagle for 13 years. She was enthusiastic about our experience with this breed and before we knew it our reservation had been approved. We also found out that this was a special puppy…Miss Mae was in Jean’s first litter to possess these rare blue colors; including blue eyes! Jean and I connected shortly after my husband reserved Miss Mae and shared all the information on puppy’s parents, bloodline history, medical testing, AKC registration process and a bit about day to day life on the farm for the puppies. Then she asked very thoughtful questions about our family dynamics and mainly about me as I would be with puppy the most, working from home. I was thrilled that Jean vetted us so thoughtfully, showing me she cares the right puppy goes to the right home. Jean genuinely cares who and where her litters’ forever homes will be…for each individual circumstance. For 6 weeks Jean shared regular text updates, photos, videos and answered any questions I would contact her about. She also shared evolving characteristics and personality traits regarding our puppy as she got ready to come to Colorado. I knew by our conversations we would be welcoming a puppy fit for our home and our family groove. Jean made every conversation meaningful, honest and full of as many details as possible about “Mae.” Puppy is now in Colorado and we have re-named her “Frankie!” She is exactly as Jean described, which prepared me for her arrival both physically and emotionally. We opted to use Jean’s pet travel liaison to fly her to us and as expected, everything went smoothly. Having the option to utilize this resource was very important to us, but most importantly to get puppy here safe, which she did! Frankie has come to us balanced, loved, healthy and ready to bond with our family. She is smart and taking to training like a champ and when it comes to snuggles, well she is a pro! Our puppy came to us being loved every single day by Jean and her family. We truly feel lucky to have found Jean and honored that she has expressed her faith in us with Frankie. Since Frankie is literally “one of a kind,” being part of this first litter of blue beagles, I look forward to keeping in touch with Jean and her updated throughout Frankie’s life. Thank you from Miles, Chelsea and Breckin!
