Meet the breeder

I'm Charleen D., the breeder behind Lilac Acres located in Milton Freewater, OR. With the enthusiastic help of our children, our litters are all very well loved and played with until they reach their new homes!

Q. & A. with Charleen

  • Why did you start breeding?

We have 6 children and wanted to do something that we could all work together on and be a part of. Some friends bred dogs and with their recommendations and help we found our goldens to raise and now have our own breeding program!
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are our pets and our children are very involved in the care and day to day lives of our dogs and puppies-when we have them!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include dark golden and golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I picked up my puppy “Rusty” on 5/3 from Charleen. I live in Arizona and so I had quite a few questions not getting to meet the puppies before hand, Charleen was always super quick to respond and answer any questions I had. After picking up Rusty it was clear he was well taken care of, and is a very confident puppy. He made the 21 hour car ride back with me with only a single accident. He is super smart and a wonderful addition to our family.
