I'm Miranda S., the breeder behind Lone Pine Corgis located in Charleston, WV. My goal is to ensure every Corgi from our program is set up to live a happy and healthy life and is prepared for their future role. I enjoy training my dogs, competing in conformation shows, and spending lots of time with them doing a variety of other activities! I love my dogs dearly and am so proud of their accomplishments.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I value raising animals that are healthy, trainable, intelligent, & beautiful. I work hard to ensure I am learning all that I can to help the dogs be happy & healthy. These dogs love to work & are wonderful companions. I travel to many different events & they love it all. Whether you want to go hiking, show at an AKC event, or curl up on the couch, these dogs will be a blessing to have as family.

  • What makes your program special?

    I believe in constant education. This follows through with my dog program also. My dogs love to go to dog classes & learn new things. I have taken them to horse & dog shows, family gatherings, & outdoor adventures (Kanawha State Forest, Beech Fork State Park, & more) and they are well behaved wherever we go. I want dogs that people enjoy being around. Lone Pine Corgis offers exceptional dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include red and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    I happened to find Miranda when I was looking to add another corgi to the family. It was a night and day experience from getting my previous puppy! Miranda is so knowledgeable and passionate about the breed. It’s so refreshing to have someone who truly and deeply cares for her dogs and breeds responsibly! I actually have two puppies from her and they are the best dogs. She is very responsive and helpful. I even received a whole little binder with all of the paperwork and information I needed for my babies. We still keep in touch which is also very nice! Just goes to show how much love she has for the babies. I would recommend her ten times over. I have never had a better experience getting a puppy!

    Miranda was very responsive and did everything she could to help me learn more about my puppy and feel confident taking him home (he is a very good fit for me!).
