Lone Tree Havanese

Linda W.

Breeder of Havanese and Poodles

Meet the breeder

I'm Linda W., the breeder behind Lone Tree Havanese located in Peoria, AZ. My puppies are raised indoors in my home, socialized, and exposed to grooming to prepare them for the life of grooming ahead. I also raise my puppies with Puppy Culture. They start ENS at 4 days old and then start with Puppy Culture at 21 days of age. I breed for health, temperament, and conformation.

Q. & A. with Linda

  • Why did you start breeding?

I bred standard poodles for the wonderful and diverse breed they are and still love them and will always own one. I'm getting older and decided to downsize so I started showing and breeding Havanese a great little dog.
  • What makes your program special?

I only breed dogs that surpass the health testing recommended by the National Club and also care about their conformation and temperament. I raise my puppies using Puppy Culture protocols.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Havanese puppies include white and black and tan. Poodle puppies are parti. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Excellent level

Lone Tree Havanese reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Havanese.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • OFA/CHIC DNA Repository, von Willebrand Disease III (vWD III)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
