Meet the breeder

I'm Michael L., the breeder behind Lugo’s Giant Schnauzers located in Northport, AL. We are a small family breeder that offers top-quality dogs with our main focus on health, temperament, and staying true to the Breed Standard.

Q. & A. with Michael

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into showing and breeding after owing my first Giant Schnauzer in 2018. Unfortunately, he passed before his first birthday due to health issues. That moment made me strive to get involved in the breed and to help make sure that the health of our animals are the most important part of our program.
  • What makes your program special?

Our program isn't special. It is what needs to be done just as any other breeder who absolutely cares about the offspring they produce.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Michael was and is still very helpful and responsive. Barbie is my little bestie and she has brought me some much needed joy! She is a SUPER calm pup with a side of sassiness which I adore. Michael you have no idea how much I thank you!
