I'm Miranda A., the breeder behind M & J's Oklahoma Giants located in Locust Grove, OK. We breed for quality, temperment, and conformation. Our dogs have had all genetic testing recommended by CHIC and OFA. We don't over breed and don't always have puppies. Our dogs are a part of our family and not kennel dogs.
Q. & A. with Miranda
Why did you start breeding?
We began breeding after we lost our first Giant to IMHA at 2 yrs of age. After doing extensive research and not realizing that I should have purchased a puppy from a breeder who health tests, I decided that I could do better.
What makes your program special?
We are a small program that focuses on the quality of our puppies. We do not breed often and do not always have puppies for sale. We are selective in what litters we produce and breed for quality, temperament, and conformation.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
