Meet the breeder

I'm Fonda T., the breeder behind Magic Valley Family Doodles located in Twin Falls, ID. There's a learning curve to breeding doodles well. With over 15 years of experience breeding doodles we can help you get the right coat, size, & temperament. We're picky about the way our puppies are whelped. We believe that early training & lots of socialization is critical to their future success.

Q. & A. with Fonda

  • Why did you start breeding?

We started with Golden Retrievers as our first family pets. We loved the breed but found the large size and tons of hair difficult to manage. We discovered that Goldendoodles are a perfect blend of temperament, size, and hair. We've worked for over 15 years to build our breeding foundation using dogs who come from lines that are health tested, & have solid temperaments.
  • What makes your program special?

We raise our puppies in our home with our kids & family! We screen our parent dogs with physical, genetic & temperament testing. We are intentional with the way we raise our babies, incorporating some of the best well known techniques & methods used in the industry. We are always educating ourselves & working towards improving upon what we already know from over 15 years of experience as breeders.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Bernedoodle puppies include tiny, mini, and standard sizes. Goldendoodle puppies include petite, miniature, medium, and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Bernedoodle puppies include red, brown, yellow and white, sable, black, black and white, tri-color, phantom, blue merle, and merle. Goldendoodle puppies include cream, apricot, red, chocolate, black, phantom, merle, and parti. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

We love our sweet mini mountain-golden-doodle, Maple! I have been enormously thankful for the ‘partnership’ I’ve felt with Fonda throughout the process of selecting the perfect puppy, finalizing details, picking up our pup, and settling in for these first two weeks after bringing Maple home with us. We had researched and saved for a puppy for a long time before settling on a breeder. We needed a puppy with a very particular size, temperament and energy level to become a psychiatric support animal for our autistic son. I originally contacted Fonda about a pup from a different litter, but based on our needs she suggested little Maple and a couple of other pups instead. We did a videoconference to ‘meet’ Maple for ourselves. And Fonda answered all of my questions. She was quickly reachable by text and phone call and I knew she had our best interest in mind. She was also flexible with our pickup date and time. We had some scheduling conflicts and she was great to work with at arranging a good time. (We live a couple of hours away.) And then there is Maple herself - a loving, playful, people-loving pup who was clearly well bread and well cared for before we brought her home at ten weeks. She’s exactly what we hoped for! Maple has had some urinary challenges since bringing her home, and Fonda has been by our side with suggestions and support over the phone. She genuinely cares about our family and our sweet Maple. Can’t recommend her more!

The whole process was thoroughly explained and laid out. Everything went smoothly, from the quick and informative responses from Fonda, the payment process and the pickup. We are totally thrilled with Oreo. She came to us with a good start to her training. She is a quick learner with just the right amount of mischievous playfulness.

We welcomed Murphy into our lives from Fonda through Good Dog, and he has been nothing short of spectacular. From the moment he arrived, he radiated warmth and charm—loving to everyone he meets, truly never meeting a stranger. Murphy is the ultimate bossy cuddler, always insisting on snuggles to get what he wants and somehow making it feel like you're the lucky one. He's curious, clever, and surprisingly gentle with our cat, forming the sweetest friendship. And honestly—he’s ridiculously handsome. People stop us just to admire him! Literally all the time! Our dog groomer says his manners are top notch! Murphy has brought so much joy, laughter, and love into our home. We’re beyond grateful to Fonda and Good Dog for connecting us with this incredible companion.

I just got a male puppy from Magic Valley Family Doodles. He is perfect! Fonda made sure he was Kennel trained for me and knew his name since I purchased him and picked him up 2 weeks later. He is now almost 11 weeks old and is precious. I have had dogs all my life and this puppy's disposition from the start is amazing! I highly recommend them as breeders!

This is our family's first dog and we are both in love with her and grateful for Fonda's support. Before our 10-week-old puppy came home, Fonda provided thorough information, helping us prepare for all aspects of her arrival. What we hadn't anticipated was how prepared our puppy was for us. Because of the environment Fonda creates for the puppies and dogs in her care, our puppy arrived comfortable sleeping in her crate, at ease with backyard sounds, open to our kiddo's cuddles, and able to ask to go outside, i.e. she was potty-trained and ready to continue her positive-reinforcement training. Remarkable!

We had a great experience with Magic Valley Goldendoodles and Fonda. From the very beginning she was responsive, transparent, and genuinely caring. She answered all of our questions, kept us updated throughout the process, and made sure we felt confident and prepared to bring our puppy home. We had a very, and I mean a very difficult time choosing between two brothers/littermates. We ended up choosing one and then changed our minds and chose the other brother. She was very accomadating. Our puppy Rocky (Bernedoodle & Goldendoodle mix) is absolutely perfect. He's happy & healthy,. You can tell he was raised in a loving environment because he adjusted so quickly to our family. Fonda clearly puts time and attention into her dogs, and it shows. The only thing I would change if I had to do it all over again has nothing to do with the breeder. My advice to anyone that hasnt had a puppy before or hasnt had one in a very, very long time is that I would probably wait until the puppy was closer to 10-12 weeks old vs 8 weeks old when we brought him home. It's a tradeoff b/c they grow so quick! I did quite a bit of research before we chose a breeder. If you are looking for a breeder who truly cares about the puppies and the families they go to, I highly recommend Fonda and Magic Valley Goldendoodles. We are so grateful for Rocky and he is already such a special part of our family.
