I'm Candace K., the breeder behind Marnac located in Paola, KS. My focus is on producing puppies for me and my future breeding program. Therefore, the entire litter will be high quality and some will be available to carefully selected homes. I am a small hobby breeder which allows me to give each and every dog and puppy the love and attention they deserve.
Q. & A. with Candace
Why did you start breeding?
My husband wanted a Labrador Retriever to hunt. We spent some time investigating breeders and chose a dog that we felt could hunt and be in the show ring.
What makes your program special?
I got my first Coton from a friend who said I “just had to have one”. I had 45 years in breeding and showing Pembroke welsh corgis and was looking for a new adventure. Well, I sure got it. My first Coton, Willow, finished her AKC championship quickly. Following her was a purchase of a Danish bred Coton, Shasta. He was easy to finish, sporting a huge white coat. Following him was Carson, also quickly finishing his championship. I find the bred smart, easy to train, and such snuggly companions. No one visits our house without being accompanied to the bathroom by a Coton. I’m still learning grooming, does that ever end? I love teaching new people the breed and have mentored several judges.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
