Q. & A. with Christine

  • Why did you start breeding?

My mother bred German shepherds when I was a kid and having puppies running around the kitchen was such a great experience I started breeding to share that experience with my children.
  • What makes your program special?

I get to spend a lot of time with my dogs and puppies so they’re very well socialized and prespoiled when they go home. My breeding protocol is for health and temperament.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include chocolate merle, brown and white, sable, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Christine

Christine has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Christine partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“I talk with each person to get an idea of their lifestyle and home situation, then I watch each puppy as they interact in their litter to determine certain traits such as dominance, submissiveness, I look for any signs of food aggression. I then separate each puppy from their litter mates and watch how they behave on their own. I’ve been breeding for 35 years and have become very good at assessing puppies. It’s very important that families are honest about their living situations, I won’t say no to first time puppy owners or if your yard isn’t fenced in, I need the information in order to pick the right dog that would suit your situation the best. For instance if this is your first dog I wouldn’t want you to have the alpha pup because the puppy could end up owning you. The information I will ask you is to help me decide what puppy is the best fit for your home.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Puppies will be up to date on all vaccinations and deworming, they will be vet checked before they leave. The parents have been DNA tested by Paw Prints and Embark for any genetic defects. I ask for a $500 deposit that can be paid through Good Dogs to reserve a puppy. I when we meet if for any reason I don’t feel comfortable selling you a puppy or if you’re not happy with the available puppies I would give you the deposit back.”
