I'm James P., the breeder behind MarvelousFrenchies located in Joliet, IL. Our dogs are bred for health first. Conformation, temperament, intelligence and socialization are just as important. Our pups are raised in house. We are not a kennel, we are passionate loving breeders.
Q. & A. with James
Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding by helping whelp (foster) puppies and kittens when they needed it. Raising them brought a sense of this may be what I should do as well with my life.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs pass the 4-6 panel tests & AKC registered. Our pups are home raised, & we strive to have great conformation. Our dogs are screened for health and reproduction from our vet. We screen our females for temperament and do a thorough 1-on-1 to ensure the studs have the same qualities as ours. We deworm our dogs and they'll be up to date with current puppy shots. DNA through Animal Genetics.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are blue. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Azula
Azula is a sweet girl. She is more on the independent side, but also loves her attention. She has been with me since she was 8 weeks old. She's alert, playful, small, bright eyed. She passes the 6 panel from animal genetics. She is AKC registered. She is a solid blue no white at all. She a pretty relaxed chill dog. She loves to play with her sibling (not her real sibling but she was raised with her older sister by 2 years). She's a quick learner. She's calm with children. She will alert you if there is a knock, but she doesn't overdo it with the barking. Overall, she is a pretty quiet dog. Her smile lights up the room and she's just happy. Great demeanor. patience, disposition.

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
