I'm Julia M., the breeder behind Maze Farms located in Tulare, CA. We understand the responsibility of purposefully breeding in order to do better for the breed and the families that love them! Breeder support and a continued effort to enhance the breed are the main objectives of our program. We hope to stay connected to our buyers long after the puppy goes home!
Q. & A. with Julia
Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding 5 years ago. I started with breeding Yorkshire Terriers. Then I decided to get a Toy Australian Shepherd. I fell in love with the breed & my Jolene. ❤️ So, I decided to breed her because I knew she’d make beautiful babies. I love having puppies & raising them to be the best puppies for their future homes. The whole experience is absolutely amazing.
What makes your program special?
My breeding program is special because I’m not a large breeder. I don’t have multiple litters at once. I have 1 litter that I focus on at a time. Every puppy gets lots of love & attention. They are treated like royalty. I take pride & joy in my puppies. I make sure they are healthy, high quality, & well socialized puppies. Everyone that has gotten puppies from me in the past are always so happy. The puppies I raise always turn out to be such wonderful dogs because I make sure they have a great foundation started before they go to their forever homes. The puppies I raise are around my kids so they’re used to kids & noise. I always do my best to work on potty training & foundational training. ❤️
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black tri, blue merle, and red tri. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Jolene
Jolene is our family dog. She is so sweet. She loves kids. She’s around our 3 children 24/7. She travels with us everywhere we go. She is so smart. Jolene has a great personality. She LOVES everyone, including strangers. Jolene is seriously the SWEETEST dog. She isn’t very hyper. She loves to play fetch but she’s not crazy. She still chills and cuddles when it’s time to relax. She is all around such a great family dog.

DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
