Meet the breeder

I'm Alicia C., the breeder behind McaysKennels located in Monterey, LA. Mcays Kennels is a dedicated breeding program specializing in French Bulldogs and Cane Corsos. Established in 2020, our program is built on structure, health, and temperament. We focus on producing dogs that are built different and bred better, with an emphasis on quality over quantity. Located in Louisiana, our dogs are raised with intention, care, and purpose.

Q. & A. with Alicia

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding because of one dog. His name was Roscoe, my very first French Bulldog, and without question, my soul dog. Roscoe wasn’t just a pet, he was my introduction to the depth of loyalty, personality, and connection that this breed carries. Through him, I learned how powerful the bond between a human and a dog can be, and how much responsibility comes with loving one fully. He sparked my passion for French Bulldogs and opened my eyes to the importance of intentional, ethical breeding. What started as love quickly turned into purpose. I wanted to honor Roscoe by doing things the right way, focusing on health, structure, temperament, and raising dogs that could become someone else’s once-in-a-lifetime companion. That passion led to the creation of Mcays Kennels in 2020, where I now breed French Bulldogs and Cane Corsos with care, respect, and intention. Every litter, every puppy, and every decision I make traces back to Roscoe. He set the standard, and his legacy lives on in everything I do.
  • What makes your program special?

Mcays Kennels is built on intention, not volume. Our program was born from a deep, personal bond with our first French Bulldog, Roscoe, our soul dog, and that foundation still guides every decision we make today. We focus on quality over quantity, carefully planning each breeding with health, structure, and temperament at the forefront. Our French Bulldogs and Cane Corsos are raised in a hands-on environment, not in kennels tucked away out of sight. They’re socialized early, exposed to everyday life, and given the structure and care needed to grow into confident, well-rounded dogs. What truly sets us apart is accountability. We stand behind every puppy we produce, offer lifetime support to our families, and are selective about where our dogs are placed. Our goal isn’t just to produce beautiful dogs, it’s to create companions that become soul dogs for someone else. At Mcays Kennels, we don’t rush the process. We build thoughtfully, raise with purpose, and breed with heart.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Alicia was absolutely wonderful to work with. It’s hard to make a decision on a new family member without ever meeting them but Alicia made it that much easier. She constantly provided updates and photos of the puppies and was super responsive with my numerous questions. We’ve been on the hunt for a French Bulldog and I’m so happy we were able to find Alicia through good dog. You won’t be disappointed.
