I'm Rebecca M., the breeder behind McIntosh Standard's located in Pikeville, NC. I have 20 years of experience with dogs, 9 years experience with the Standard poodle breed. I've trained multiple service dogs. I have 10 years of dog grooming experience.

Why did you start breeding?
I decided to start breeding dogs because I had multiple dogs I adopted from bad situations die young from genetic issues. I am breeding dogs because I want healthy puppies that I know will have long lives. I'd like to be in control of how my dogs grow from the moment they are born. Obviously I cant keep them all though.
What makes your program special?
My dogs are treated like my children, I am home with my dogs 24 hours a day, I have hiking trails in the back yard and a large field for training and exposing the pups to things. My dogs are also socialized with cats, other dogs, young children, and people outside of the household. Mom and pups are kept by my bed so I can assure they are okay at night. I am not a show breeder.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include apricot, black, blue, cream, red, silver, and parti. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Rebecca

Rebecca has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Rebecca partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“2,500 for limited akc registration 3,000 for unlimited akc registration. 500 deposit to reserve a specific puppy and rest of payment due at puppy pickup. Color and gender doesn't affect prices, all puppies receive equal attention and care.”

About Elvis
Elvis is very working minded, loves having a job, extremely eager to please, he's had service dog training and worked for 8 years of his life. I'm hopeful some of his puppies will inherit his working ethic and make great service/therapy animals. He has had a very active healthy life. He is still very healthy and active at 9 years old and shows no sign of slowing down. Often outpacing and lasting my younger dog when we have play sessions. While he doesn't do service work often anymore his favorite job right now is fetch aka bringing the ball back.

Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
