Meet the breeder

I'm Lisa H., the breeder behind Meadow Run Mini American Shepherds located in Spanaway, WA. We absolutely love this breed and strive to share this love by Breeding the best of the best. Each one of our dogs participates in AKC Sports and has eagerly earned Titles in a variety of events. Our focus on temperament, health, biddability and beauty guarantees you a wonderful lifetime adventure best friend.

Q. & A. with Lisa

  • Why did you start breeding?

Mishka…an MAS who I had the privilege of babysitting. I fell in love with her immediately and sadly learned of some genetic issues she had. I wanted to change and prevent issues with this breed by becoming a Breeder focused on health, temperament and breed standards.
  • What makes your program special?

I’m a very small Licensed and Inspected Breeder. This means pups are raised/cared for according to County and States standards. Our Mini’s are raised as Pets first. No kennel or Crate living. All our pups have ENS/ESI starting on day 1. Early desensitization, Vet care and more. My goal is a pup wired for success. These pups and their Parents are very important to us.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
