I'm Melissa A., the breeder behind Melissa's Havanese located in Granger, IN. Puppies are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis. I carefully select and match homes based on communication, lifestyle, experience, expectations, and the individual puppy’s temperament and needs. A payment alone does not constitute approval for placement. Please DO NOT send deposit until requested. All puppies will be vet checked twice, vaccinated and dewormed.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I love dogs and love talking about dogs. Dogs are family members. If you are the type to see dogs as just dogs, please select a different breed and a different litter as these dogs do not do well in those types of settings.

  • What makes your program special?

    Both male and female live in my home. My Havanese also have an auntie who is a husky and does a great job helping socialize them. I do think it is better to select a dog based on characteristics not just looks. I want both families and dogs to be happy with the long term fit.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Melissa

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $1,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes up to date vet checks/shots and akc pre-registration fee paid. My male and female have no known genetic problems and came from parents with the same background. Deposit should be provided to Good Dog once we both agree that our puppy is likely a good fit for your home.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
