I'm Sue M., the breeder behind Michelet Poodles located in Damascus, PA. Temperament, health, and balanced conformation are our priorities. Our dogs love to hunt, swim, and cuddle. They also provide service to the community by donating blood to the local Animal Emergency Vet Hospital, have achieved their Canine Good Citizen Test, and participate in clinical research trials with medical researchers from the University of Penn Veterinarian School. Supporting the efforts to improve canine health through preventative medicines research, blood donations, nutritional research, and our own commitment to pedigree and genetics versatility research in Poodles is our passion.
Q. & A. with Sue
Why did you start breeding?
After our first litter, we mainly handled our own stud dogs and often were asked to raise the litters. It was so rewarding, and all the hard work was worthwhile when we would see our labor of love cuddled in the arms of their new family members. We now have a daughter out of our AKC CH stud, Marty, and she will be our foundation female with her first breeding this year after she clears all her health testing.
What makes your program special?
We are a program that is not about the numbers but about the quality. We are well-connected with some of the top breeders in the country so we have the opportunity to breed with some of the top Poodles. We live with the puppies the whole time they are with us, and they interact with us throughout the day. We use that time to teach manners, respect, and basic commands.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
