Lisa & Michael partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

“All puppies go home with their first round of vaccines, health certificate & are seen by my local vet. They will be fully de-wormed and also will have had their first heart guard and flea and tick medication. We provide your pup with one of his/her favorite toys and also a blanket with mom Mika's and litter mates scent on it to help ease the transition to their new home. Our reservation system is on a first serve basis. Puppies are chosen in the order of deposits received. Should a owner desire a sex that is not available, their name would be moved to the next available litter.”

I wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for trusting us with the privilege of raising your newest family member. As we watched each puppy leave for their forever home this weekend, our hearts were filled with gratitude, joy, and a touch of bittersweet emotion. We pour so much love, care, and dedication into every puppy from the day they are born, and knowing they are now beginning their lives with such wonderful families means the world to us. Thank you for choosing one of our puppies and for allowing us to be a small part of your family’s story. Additional sound socializing with loud firework noises in preparation for the upcoming holiday. This training will help your puppy grow into a confident adult dog and reduces future noise fears, separation anxiety, and stress related behaviors. You can practice this at home (once your puppy is settled in..I would wait at least a month or so) by playing thunderstorms, traffic, and power tool noises basically anything that might startle your dog. Begin at a low volume and gradually increase over a few days. Make sure you do this when your puppy is awake and playful and make sure he remains relaxed.

Enjoying some playtime outdoors on the deck while we wait for our flea and tick meds to arrive. Also, being socialized with loud noise of the lawnmower. As you can see, they were not frightened which is great!

Everyone went to the vet last week for their first exams and vaccinations. Happy to say everyone got a clean bill of health and even some compliments from our vet on how clean they were! We are very proud of our pups and can’t wait for you to meet your babies this weekend! 🐾🥰 Mac volunteered to go first to show the gang how it’s done! ✅💚

Special attention from momma, Yumi! 🐾🖤. I also wanna mention your puppy will need a X-Small collar/harness. They have a break away collar on now that they will go home with, but if you put a leash on it, they will pull and the collar will breakaway. Likewise, if he/she were to get into a predicament and into a choking situation, the collar would break away.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Lisa and Michael! From the very beginning, they was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and patient with all of our questions. As first-time Japanese Spitz owners, we appreciated how responsive they was and how much time they took to explain the process and keep us informed. One of our favorite parts was receiving regular “pupdates” with pictures and videos as the puppies grew. It was so special to watch Casper develop before he even came home, and it gave us so much confidence knowing he was being raised in such a loving environment. It was clear that Yumi and her puppies received exceptional care and attention every single day. When we picked up Casper, he was healthy, happy, well-socialized, and clearly loved. You can truly tell that Lisa and Michael treats every puppy like family and wants each one to go to the perfect home. We are so grateful for everything Lisa and Michael did throughout this journey and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a Japanese Spitz. Thank you for giving us the sweetest little boy, we are already completely in love with Casper! 🤍🐾

My husband and I had a japanese spitz that sadly passed away a year and a half ago and we knew this is the breed we want to always have. We took time to grieve first, then started researching breeders. We talked to another breeder and it just was not working out then we found Lisa and Michael. From the get go, they were very knowledgeable and you could just tell they TRULY take care of their dogs and the puppies from breeding. Now we have our beautiful sweetie pie Snowflake and could not be happier. They were always responsive and we got to see tons of pics and videos while waiting to meet her. You can tell our pup came from a great place because she is already mostly potty trained and was as soon as we got her on day 1. She is so smart, loving, and a light to our lives. We are so thankful for Lisa and Michael and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a JS!!!

We consider ourselves very lucky 🍀 to have found Lisa and Michael as breeders. They have been so wonderful to work with. From the beginning, Lisa always got back to me in a timely manner and answered all my questions. She informed me quickly once the litter was born, even though she had her hands full with little ones, and kept me updated throughout! I loved ❤️ getting pictures and videos, as he changed so much during those first few weeks. She was extremely helpful in recommending lots of useful products too. But most importantly, they did a fabulous job raising Koda! He is so well adjusted and friendly!! 😊 They did a great job with the introduction to potty training as well. He totally understood the concept of going potty outside from the moment we drove him home and he goes as soon as we bring him out because of this! We were also fortunate to be able to pick him up at their house, meet Mika and Kenji (and Yumi too!) and see the wonderful set up that they use to raise their puppies. And what a set up they have!! It’s no wonder the pups are so well adjusted because they are raised right in the middle of their own home and have so many items that teach the puppies all sorts of varied and valuable experiences. Not only were we impressed but so was my vet when we showed him their unique play-space! Their introduction to the crate has also been beneficial as Koda has no problem being put in his crate at night and sleeps very well during the night right from the day we brought him home! We couldn’t be happier with Koda and highly recommend Mika Japanese Spitz!!!

We just can’t say enough good things about Lisa and Michael as breeders! There are “breeders” and then there are even fewer breeders like “Mika Japanese Spitz” where every pup is obviously so loved and amazingly cared for by Lisa and Michael! Simply phenomenal by comparison in every way! As our little Japanese Spitz pup “Koda” is our 4th in 45 years of marriage, so we are honored to share more of our “breeder and puppy experience” Koda isn’t just another “Spitz” for us, he’s a whole different breed of Spitz Our long-time Vet “strongly” encouraged us to think about a different breed other than our previous “Eskies”, so we decided to look further (Suffice to say “ Eskie’s” have a somewhat “”tarnished reputation” as being a bit more difficult to train and extra-temperamental” and yes, sometimes they can be…) So after much research and a lot of wondering, we fortunately came across “Mika Japanese Spitz” We candidly talked to Lisa (at length…) about how this very similar looking Japanese Spitz tended to differ from our nearly 30+ year experience as “assumed ambassadors” to the American Eskimo Dog (Eskie’s). We had cherished the time traveling with our highly noticed Eskie “stars” meeting their many “admirers” and answering lots of questions about this lesser known breed… And now our little Japanese Spitz is even lesser known so we are both grateful and excited to proudly be this breeds’ newest ambassadors! From our first phone call explaining the “gentler personality” (of this let’s face it, nearly identical looking dog) until the that rainy day we went to “Pickerington, Ohio” from Metro Detroit, we got to know Lisa and trusted her as we both learned more about the more easy-going personality of the Japanese Spitz… We are thrilled to let you know how are newest family member, Koda, is doing, already! Koda is not only settling in nicely…but his last couple weeks in his new home, has proven (to us at least) this breed of “Spitz” is the most easy going, already trained spitz pup we could have wished to bring home! He’s remarkable…it’s not just that potty training is a breeze, his acclimation to his new world is even BETTER than we dreamed possible! And needless to say, we have our vet’s seal of approval after our first visit and introduction…and as expected, tests and his 1st vet exam prove this “Good Dog” pup is also in perfect health What you can expect from a “Mika Japanese Spitz” pup (if you are fortunate enough to adopt) is a well-adjusted, highly adaptable, beautiful, smart and absolutely ready-for-more love new little Japanese Spitz buddy. We love him so and are truthfully feeling blessed he is such a “Good Dog”

My daughter researched this breed and convinced us it would be perfect for her first dog. We agreed, but she had to save the money. So for 2yrs she asked for nothing but puppy money for birthdays and Christmases and did extra chores around the house. In the meantime, my husband and I researched breeders. Lisa and Michael stood out immediately. And we can now say that our baby is absolutely perfect. Her temperament is sweet and curious, so intelligent that she's learned several commands in just a matter of days, and she's incredibly affectionate. I know this is because of Lisa and Michael's hard work. They even sent us home with some toys and puppy essentials that have been crucial in helping our little girl adjust. Thank you, Lisa and Michael!

We are overjoyed with our puppy Ahri and so grateful for her amazing breeders! From the start, they were professional, kind, and responsive, always putting their puppies’ well-being first. Ahri came to us happy, healthy, and perfectly adjusted. They even went above and beyond to meet us at a convenient spot and followed up afterward to ensure she was settling in. Truly compassionate, responsible breeders, we couldn’t recommend them more! 🩷
