I'm Amanda B., the breeder behind Mills River Doodles located in Mills River, NC. We want to do our best to give our dogs a wonderful home and raise healthy, strong, and happy puppies for other families. We health and hip test our parent dogs and consider their temperaments prior to breeding. This helps give us confidence that we are doing our best for future puppies and their families. We use Puppy Culture and raise them in our home and on our property to give them an extra head start to a great life.

Why did you start breeding?
Worked as an apprentice with a local Goldendoodle breeder and as a family we decided to do it in our home too. I have grown up with Shepherds and Poodles. Love the breeds.What makes your program special?
We want to work closely with our puppy families. I love helping them decide which puppy is best for their lifestyle and what they are looking for. We do many videos to help them decide which puppy they want to provide a home for and continue pictures, videos, and facetime so that our families feel connected to their puppy before they ever bring it home.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Aussiedoodle puppies include mini and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Aussiedoodle puppies include red merle, black and white, black tri-color, red phantom, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
Getting a puppy from Amanda
Amanda has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Amanda partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.
“We enjoy working with each family to find the right fit for their household. We go in order of date of deposit and allow families to choose from a current litter if the timing is right and they find their match. If they choose, they can pass on the most recent litter and wait until the next pups arrive. We do not start final reservations until after their vet visit and we know personalities better at 7 weeks. Establishing a good and ongoing relationship with our puppy families is a priority in our program! ”

About Toby
Toby is a confident, wonderful dog. We added him to our program in 2021 and he has been our star stud. His temperament is wonderful. He is comfortable in our home, on the road, and in public. He sleeps at the foot of our bed and enjoys hugs. He continues to help us produce predictable, healthy litters. He can outrun even a larger dog and yet never minds being lazy with his family all day. Strong, confident gate and build and produces great furnishings (the doodle mustache) on his pups.

About Patsy
Patsy is our goofy sweetheart. We have worked with the breeder she originally came from since 2021 and we were so excited to add her to our home and program. She lives with us in our household and her favorite thing to do is lay in front of the air conditioning vent in the kitchen floor. (she knows that we occasionally are clumsy and drop crumbs). She is wonderful around children and enjoys playing. She gives us "hugs" by wrapping her long front leg around our calve muscles. It is something she taught herself and it is obvious she is showing us affection when we get home. She will always be our "Pat Pat" and we have been so excited to watch her pups carry on many of her fun antics!

Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
