I'm Mindy H., the breeder behind Mindy's English Springer Spaniels located in Tea, SD. We own Kobe (TX) & Nala (WA), AKC registered & DNA tested (328+ markers). They are loving family pets & best friends. Our goal: improve breed health, temperament & share the joy of English Springer Spaniels with families who cherish this incredible breed, as we do.

Why did you start breeding?
After losing a 3-year-old Springer to a rare genetic bleeding disorder, I became committed to responsible breeding and genetic testing. With 30 years of experience with English Springer Spaniels and a healthcare background, I aim to improve breed health and temperament so families never face preventable heartbreak.What makes your program special?
Health, temperament, and transparency are our priorities. Kobe & Nala are AKC registered, DNA tested, and raised as family pets in our home. Puppies grow up in a loving home with care, socialization (my family, Kobe and Nala, and we also have a cat), kids, desensitization introductions (ie sounds and new surfaces). We provide health records and lifelong support for every family.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include liver white and tan and liver and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Litter update on 01 Mar •…One handsome dude left - lime green collar! He has many "nicks names" at our house now - Captain Smudge and/or Smudgey, Captain Smudgins, Smudgey Bear, or Fudge(y) or Buddy or bud-ster, or Mister. He is a happy-go-lucky & fun little guy who is very attentive (he is always watching us and knows what we are up too- ha!). He will grow into a very loyal boy. He is always making us giggle too - he is just a sweet, fun, silly dude. A few siblings pictured here too that will soon be going to their new homes. As you can see, they are all getting bigger (they can peek over their door now.)

Litter update on 11 Feb •…Puppy photos from the past few weeks 🐾! We made it! The babies are old enough to go to their new homes! We have just a few left looking for new homes 🏠. Some highlights here: - Last full litter photos, family photo, and sibling snuggles 🥰 . - We continue to work on early positive exposures for the pups as they get ready/got ready to go home including: bubble baths, nail clips/grinds, and even some hair trimming/clipper trimming. - Climbing stairs now ✔️ - Playtime and enjoying the warmer weather

Litter update on 24 Jan •…Good Morning everyone- hope you’re all staying warm! Right now in SD it's - 7 and has been chilly this week. The pups have been troopers despite the cold/snow/ice we’ve had to navigate this week (although I think the adults are ready for the warmer temps again-ha!) Since the weather has been a factor this week, we adapted a bit too. Highlights: *everyone is getting bigger, more playful, and, really starting to show their personalities *I am not quite sure who has who potty trained but we have had a great week and they are really getting the hang of it, and keeping the box/tray with pad fairly clean and waiting to go outside. (I am still counting it a win) *We expanded the heated garage play pen so they can run and get their "puppy wiggles" out despite the cold. Nala (mom) was interested in too so joined the fun and it appears she is still teaching the babies some valuable lessons. In the photos, my hubby was helping the pups get used to the new pen and play with them- but I think he was a little tired then they all came to lay by him (super cute). My kiddos have been a great helpers too. *After the pups get their "puppy wiggles" out, then it's cuddle and nap time. Litter update on 19 Jan •…This is what we have been up to lately- many trips to the great outdoors (but with that the pups are keeping the box inside fairly clean overall, so early potty training is going pretty well!!) We load everyone up in totes to navigate the stairs on the deck and then they go do their “routine” and run & play. They seem to really enjoy being outside, especially on the warmer days. Not much snow right now, so that helps quite a bit. On the colder days, outside trips are quick, and then the pups go burn their extra energy in the garage pen before coming back in for nap time. Litter update on 17 Jan •…More updates in order by age: getting bigger! Program update on 14 Jan •…Updates continued from the early days, this batch includes snuggles and a lot of “firsts”. First: trying “puppy puree” (went as well as to be expected- haha, as evidenced by them sleeping at the pan!), first walk on carpet, first walks on tile, and of course some snuggles with mom and dad, and the rest of us 😇

Litter update on 10 Jan •…Kobe and Nala had their first litter of 9 beautiful puppies on 11/27 & 11/28! This is our first litter, as well, and it has been a an absolute blessing taking care of them, snuggle them, and watching them all grow, thrive, meet milestones, and experience their firsts! They will soon be ready for new homes at the end of January. Sharing many pictures from the first few weeks. About Nala
Nala is a sweet girl and very attentive. She loves to be snuggled & play with the kids, Kobe, and Goldie, our cat. Nala’s motherly instincts kicked in when we got Goldie as a kitten this past summer and she has been her protector ever since. Nala is liver/white and if the sun hits her eye brows just right, you can see a hint of caramel in them. (Nala’s mom is a beautiful tri, so she carries the gene for it) Photos: Nala is wearing the purple collar or the smaller one of the two in the pictures with the red collars. Kobe is wearing blue collar or the bigger of the two in the red collars.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
