I'm Alisa W., the breeder behind Misty Maples Goldens located in Detroit Lakes, MN. We have been breeding quality Golden Retrievers for over 25years. Each litter is meticulously planned improve the breed and to help accentuate the best qualities of the Golden Retriever. Each litter is raised in our home and puppies are handled multiple times per day. They are exposed to new things daily.

Why did you start breeding?
We wanted to breed quality AKC Goldens that are structurally correct and have the ability to achieve in any venue.What makes your program special?
We believe that every Golden can reach their potential, but we expect them all to have proper manners and respect their owners. We highly encourage puppy buyers to take their puppy to puppy kindergarten and basic obedience classes.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

"This price includes AKC limited registration, lifetime microchip registration, collar, toys, towel w litter scent, blanket, food bowls, starter bag of food, puppy info packet. The deposit is refundable until the pregnancy is confirmed, and puppies are whelped and delivered. After puppies born 50% of purchase price is due."

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
