I'm Monica O., the breeder behind Montére Farms located in Alpharetta, GA. We are a small hobby breeder located in the north Atlanta, GA area. Our focus is representing this wonderful breed to the highest standards and to strategically breed only the best to improve the breed for years to come. Our dogs and pups are in the house with us and are raised with children and other pets. We do not believe in high volume breeding or having more dogs than are able to be household pets. Our dogs do not stay in a kennel, they are members of the family.
Q. & A. with Monica
Why did you start breeding?
I began just showing my dogs in conformation, agility, obedience, etc. Then after seeing how successful they were, we decided to start breeding on a limited basis. I was able to learn under a few wonderful mentors and now pride myself in producing top quality dogs on a limited basis.
What makes your program special?
I don’t have a large kennel, instead, I believe that first and foremost dogs should be pets and loved as part of the family. I never have more dogs than I can include in the house, with the family. Additionally, I believe only top quality dogs that fit the AKC standard should be bred. I do not breed for convenience or profit, I research pedigrees and choose stud dogs that would bring out the best.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
