Q. & A. with Catherine
Why did you start breeding?
I first bred golden retrievers, beginning back in the 1980’s as teenager. The pick puppy from this breeding went to a close friend who continued to build upon the lines. I have been blessed with wonderful mentors and excellent resources. I returned to breeding due to an interest in seeing purebred golden retrievers and kooikerhondje continue to thrive. There is a need for ethically bred dogs, with an eye to health, temperament, and conformation.
What makes your program special?
Preservation breeding focused on health, temperament, and true golden retriever characteristics. Breeding is a science, an art, and the willingness to continually learn. My goal is to improve upon each generation. Puppies are raised in my home, with introduction to scent, textures, noise, and lots of socialization. My breeding program focuses on excellent temperament, high standards for health testing, and matching potential owners to puppies who are a good fit for their lifestyle and goals.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
