Meet the breeder

I'm Kayvonne P., the breeder behind MorningStar Miniature American Shepherds located in Foley, AL. Why a MorningStar puppy? My puppies are small and smaller! Much smaller than the average mini out there! I am a show dog breeder with 95% of my lovely puppies going to thoughtful pet, therapy and performance homes. I am a preservation breeder, carefully choosing each cross to further this breed to not only continue our own phenomenal bloodlines, but to improve this breed with each litter and do our part to ensure the well-being of these dogs for generations more to come. If puppies are priced under $2500, you pick up or I can arrange shipping. Meeting available if I only drive less than 3 hours on puppies priced at $2500 or more. All health testing done on parents. Puppies are temperament tested at 7 1/2 weeks and you can be sure all age appropriate socialization has been permitted and encouraged prior to placement.

Q. & A. with Kayvonne

  • Why did you start breeding?

Have always bred and shown and trained Hunters and Jumpers 50+ years. Showing dogs was a sport I enjoyed. I breed for my next winner out of generations of thoughtfully planned crosses of healthy, genetically tested individuals of sound character. You have the opportunity to purchase a superior beautiful puppy with generations of carefully planned pedigrees.
  • What makes your program special?

I am a careful individual, whose program has produced therapy dogs who also win in the show ring. The best of the best always. Lovely healthy pet puppies.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Miniature American Shepherd puppies include black tri, red tri-color, and blue merle. Toy Australian Shepherd puppies include black tri, blue merle, red merle, and red tri. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

I highly, recommend Kayvonne. She was so easy to work with. She prepared us with so much important information. I have friends that received pups from her and we all play together. Kayvonne checks in and provided the AKC infor for our pup. I cat recommended her enough
