I'm Jenica L., the breeder behind Mount Garfield Corgis located in Grand Junction, CO. We decided to start breeding to share the best possible puppies with excellent personalities, temperament, and most of all health! Our dogs stole our hearts right from the start and we found ourselves wanting to get more involved. Breeding was a natural next step and we haven’t looked back since!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We both have loved dogs since we were very young. When we met and started dating, we knew we wanted a few dogs of our own and decided to turn our passion into something more by breeding. We're excited to bring more low-rider dogs into this world and connect them with loving families who will gain lifelong frienship by bringing them into their homes.

  • What makes your program special?

    We value health above all else. Our dogs are DNA tested for the most common diseases associated with the breed in order to make sure those diseases are not present in our dogs. We want all our puppies to be healthy and happy.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include fawn, sable, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Jenica

Jenica has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Jenica partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $350 non-refundable deposit and between $1,150 - $1,550 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes the AKC registration, dewormer, first round of vaccinations, dew claw removal, choice on tail docking (if deposit is paid prior to or just after birth), vet check/health check, and 1 year health guarantee. Deposit is non-refundable but can be applied to a puppy in a future litter if things do not work out.”

Jenica may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

    Jenica is the most kind, helpful, and communicating person I have EVER met when it comes to breeding/selling puppies!     Recently, our 14-year-old Corgi, Jada, crossed the rainbow bridge. Throughout her life with us, we realized that she was a one dog per household fur baby, so we held off searching for any type of companion for her. We were devastated with her passing and knew there wouldn't be any way to replace her even if we wanted to. Over Christmas break, my wife and I went to Wyoming to spend the holidays with family and friends, still grieving Jada. A family member had encouraged us to look for a new puppy. I searched on the internet, and to our pleasant surprise, there was a Corgi breeder named Mount Garfield Corgis right in our hometown of Grand Junction, Colorado, and they had an available tricolor male puppy! We contacted Jenica through Good Dog and set up a meeting point that Jenica and her husband gladly agreed with to bring Phantom to meet us. We immediately felt a positive connection with Phantom and reserved him straight away. Working with Jenica and her husband has been a delight throughout the entire process of our reserving him, purchasing him, and bringing him home. They have been great with all communications with us. Because we felt that it was by chance that he was available at exactly the right time and place, we named him Chance. Mount Garfield Corgis instills love in their puppies from the start. Chance is sweet and extremely intelligent. His sire and dam (parents) are obviously high-quality pedigree Corgis. Although we know that there is no replacing our Jada, Chance has already become a wonderful addition to our family. We would highly recommend Mount Garfield Corgis.
