I'm Kathleen S., the breeder behind Mountain View Schnauzers located in Kalama, WA. We are a small in-home breeder of AKC registered Miniature Schnauzers. We Embark DNA test parents to assuring we are offering healthy pups free of genetic defects that Embark test for. Pups are raised in our home, well socialized. We are proud supporters of dedicated and responsible breeders.
Q. & A. with Kathleen
Why did you start breeding?
I grew up in a family of dog lovers. After I married and convinced my husband that we needed a Schnauzer, we brought home a beautiful Black girl. She was so smart and the best temperament. We were asked by friends to breed her so they could have one. I had experience in breeding previously with Yorkies and as a child growing up on a farm. I'm an avid reader and study breeding practices to keep up to date on situations that could arise during breeding/birthing process. One of my happy moments is giving over a pup to its new family.
What makes your program special?
We care a great deal about all of our dogs and puppies. Our dogs are part of our family. They live with us and sit on our laps and at bedtime most of them find a way onto one of our beds or in our bedrooms. We always have our grandkids and friends over to play with our puppies.
I take great care to research pedigrees and genetics to assure we are breading healthy dogs with no inbreeding.
I am there to assist delivery with each pup born.
Another MAJOR feature of our breeding program is that we do not dock our pups tails! It is all natural here from the ears to the tips of their beautiful tails. We do not support animal cruelty!
All our breeding dogs are Embark DNA tested to assure us (and you) that we are breeding healthy dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
