Meet the breeder

I'm Lea H., the breeder behind Muddy Acres German Shepherds located in Tony, WI. Our dogs are bred for health and temperament with a focus on conformation, athleticism and intelligence. We are dedicated to providing our families with wonderful, healthy family pets.

Q. & A. with Lea

  • Why did you start breeding?

When we started, we had German Shepherds that were just our family pets. We had many friends and family that loved our Shepherds and the lines we carried. We did a few litters one here and one there. We did not want to over breed them by having a litter, every 6 months. Word of mouth kind of took over and over 10 years later here we are. We still strive for the same quality and personal touch.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are family. They live in our home with us. They camp with us go four wheeling with us. They do everything with us. We believe in prioritizing them. There health and their well being come first. Our females only have 3-4 litters in their lifetime before they are retired and spayed. We are present for every litters birth. They are born in our home and live in our home until they leave.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include long, plush, and stock coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and red, black and tan, black and cream, and black and silver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
