Getting a puppy from Melanie

Melanie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Melanie partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,300 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Puppies have tails docked and dew claws removed. AKC registration included, age appropriate vaccines, deworming, grooming desensitization, puppy pack, 30 days trupanion insurance. A $500 non-refundable reservation fee is required to secure your selected puppy. This fee goes toward the total purchase price.”

Melanie may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Our babies are officially 3 weeks old! This is when things really start getting fun 🤍 Their eyes are open, and they’re becoming much more aware of their surroundings. We’re seeing the start of little personalities come through. Some are already more adventurous, while others are happy to cuddle up with their siblings. They’re beginning to stand, wobble around, and even attempt those adorable first “play” moments with each other. Lots of tiny tail wags and puppy noises this week! Mom is still doing an amazing job, and the puppies are continuing to gain weight and thrive. The next couple of weeks will bring even more changes as they become more active and start exploring more!

Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
