I'm Virginia, the breeder behind Nova Scotia Duck Doodles located in Woodstock, VA. We’re proud of the healthy, affectionate, and beautiful puppies we raise. Matching each family with the right puppy is the key to our success and yours. We have used our current lines for 10+ years and have refined them to produce calm, loving and trainable dogs. All our parents are health tested.

Why did you start breeding?
We have been breeding independently for 10 years but I grew up with dogs and puppies my whole life. I wanted a breed that had the low-no shedding and allergy friendly coats with a temperament that was family friendly and have great therapy potential. Doodles fit this perfectly! Our parents are all "baby proof" meaning they are great with children which are traits that get passed on to their pups!What makes your program special?
Our breeding program only uses breeding lines that are first and foremost healthy. We choose our parents based on their wonderful temperaments and gorgeous dispositions. We only cross parents who are good fit healthwise and also compliment one another's temperaments and structure. Every breeding is an intentional decision to produce healthy and well tempered puppies.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

“Our deposits are generally non-refundable unless at the in person meeting we, the breeder, or the buyer does not think the puppy is a good fit. If that is the case the deposit is either refundable or transferable to a different puppy/litter.”

Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
