I'm Nevin K., the breeder behind Nevin Keeney located in Hampton, VA. Our dogs are raised in our home as part of our family, receiving daily interaction, early socialization, and loving care to help them grow into confident, well-adjusted companions. All of our dogs are AKC-registered and selected from strong championship lines. Puppies are raised in-home.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    A good friend of mine is a breeder of Havanese. She got me started after my 2 Maltese dog had passed away after 16 years.

  • What makes your program special?

    I try to do everything to the AKC standards and only give my dogs K9 Kravings raw dog food and have all vet visits exactly on time. I also am careful to only select the best fitting

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black and white, chocolate, and red sable. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Nevin

Price

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes health guarantee, AKC registration, first round of vaccinations, deworming, and socialization. All of our puppies from this litter are the same price regardless of color or size.”

Contract & health guarantee

Nevin may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     We could not have asked for a better experience in getting our family dog from Nevin. After much consideration about the dynamics of our home with little to no yard and our young daughter, we knew we wanted a Havanese, and we were hoping to get a black and white female. We got a good feeling from Nevin from the very first conversation. He was very knowledgeable about the breed, and took great care to explain how the process worked on his end, what kind of food she was using, toys she was playing with, timelines etc. Between the time that we paid the deposit and pick up, Nevin shared a number of videos and pics of Domino, and was very flexible with a meet up date and location. He even agreed to drive and meet us more than halfway, which was a tremendous help. To top it off, our little Domino arrived as advertised, healthy and happy. It was evident that Nevin had grown attached to her and was sad to say goodbye. He even left us with (in addition to her papers) a goodie bag of food to see us through the first few days, some toys and chewies, and a familiar smelling blanket. Everything Nevin did showed us his care for animals, and he made the process for us so much easier. Could not recommend him or the puppy getting experience more highly.

    I can’t say enough good things about Nevin. From the very beginning he was quick to respond and genuinely curious about me and my situation, not just trying to make a sale. You can tell these dogs mean a lot to him and he wants them going to the right homes. While I waited to bring my girl home, he kept me in the loop the whole time with photos, videos, and a few video calls. I got to watch Shvana’s little personality come out before I’d even met her, which I loved. He’d notice the small things and check in to make sure everything was good, so by pickup day I felt completely at ease. She’s everything I hoped for, healthy, full of energy, and goofy in the best possible way. The whole thing just felt easy and kind from start to finish. Thank you again for everything, Nevin!
