I'm Hannah N., the breeder behind Newton Hay & Cattle located in Derby, IA. Hello! My name is Hannah Newton and I have one Adult Corgi named Laramie- she is my baby. We breed her once a year. Our puppies are AKC registered, wormed, have vaccines and a health check by our vet before going to their fur-ever home. They are raised around my kids so they get socialized.
Q. & A. with Hannah
Why did you start breeding?
My step daughter’s mom has a state licensed kennel. And we love getting to raise puppies for their first 8 weeks of life and get them prepared to go to their fur-ever homes.
What makes your program special?
Laramie is a family member. And we don’t have puppies consistently. We have one litter a year and strive to make those babies the best we can.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Newton Hay & Cattle reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Pembroke Welsh Corgis.
Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
