I'm Christina M., the breeder behind Nina's Golden hour located in Holly, MI. I am passionate about raising well-rounded pups who will excel in any venue with their new families. I breed for intellect, health, behavior, conformation, and temperament. My goal is to produce superior representations of the breed. I love being a breeder and take pride in my program and my pups.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I grew up in a Retriever-loving family, where my passion for dogs began at a young age. My first dogs were a Great Dane/Golden Retriever mix & a Labrador Retriever. At 17, I purchased my 1st purebred Golden Retriever, inspiring my passion for responsible breeding, health testing, genetics, & raising well-socialized puppies with exceptional temperaments to preserve the breed I love so much!

  • What makes your program special?

    Our dogs are cherished family members and our puppies are raised in the heart of our home. We use Puppy Culture, Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), daily socialization, & positive enrichment to build confident, well-rounded puppies. With health-tested parents & lifetime breeder support, we are committed to giving every puppy the very best start in life. Quality will always come before quantity.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include dark golden and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Christina

Christina has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Christina partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“Puppies are matched in reservation order after each family has been approved. Families are welcome to choose from available puppies, but we spend the first eight weeks evaluating each puppy through daily interaction, Puppy Culture, ENS, and temperament observations. If we believe another puppy would be a better fit for your lifestyle or goals, we’ll discuss our recommendations openly. To protect the health and safety of our puppies, we maintain a strict closed-home policy and do not allow in-home visits under any circumstances. However, we’re happy to schedule FaceTime video calls so you can meet the puppies, ask questions, and watch them grow. If a suitable match cannot be made, your reservation fee may be transferred to a future litter or refunded according to our reservation policy. Our goal is to create lifelong, successful matches for both our puppies and their families.”

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $3,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Each puppy is raised with equal commitment to health, temperament, early development, & lifelong breeder support to ensure a great start in life. A $500 non-refundable reservation fee secures your puppy and applies toward the purchase price. If a suitable match isn’t available, your fee may be transferred to a future litter.”

Christina may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary), Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 5 (NCL5), Golden Retriever Type, Ichthyosis, Golden Retriever Type 1, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), PRA, Golden Retriever 2, PRA, Golden Retriever 1

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
