Q. & A. with Shena & Jayden

  • Why did you start breeding?

My journey into breeding began with a deep love for Great Danes and a desire to share their incredible companionship with others. What started as a passion quickly became a purpose—to raise healthy, well-tempered Danes who thrive as family members.
  • What makes your program special?

We are passionate about the genetics and development of Great Danes, constantly expanding our knowledge of the breed. Each puppy begins Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) at just 3 days old, followed by noise desensitization starting at 2 weeks, helping to lay the foundation for confident, well-adjusted companions.

Shena and Jayden were great to work with and we couldn’t be happier with our Great Dane puppy. Their communication was prompt, helpful and they worked with us to make our preferred pickup arrangements work. Since pickup, they have been very helpful and have answered any questions that have popped up. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend North Cedar Danes to friends and family or work with them again in the future. Looking forward to following their future Great Dane litters!

Honestly, this was such a great experience. Shena/Jayden were so responsive, helped with everything from food to deliver of the puppy. They sent numerous pictures throughout the process, sent all the documentation we needed, and had Thea registered for us. They really made this such a good experience, and we just want to say thank you for that.

Connecting with Shena was a wonderful experience right from the start! This is the very 1st time we have purchased from a "breeder".. normally we adopt littles that have been surrendered. But we lost our 8 year old Great Dane last September.. broke our hearts! I wanted another one Dane. (a baby....) I searched websites and landed on Gooddog ~ inboxed Shena and it was amazing at the word GO! She sent us sweet pics as our Mazzie Mae grew, walked us through the process and all was amazing. We are in love. Mazzie Mae is absolutely beautiful, healthy and sweet. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and a sweeter puppy. Shena! Thank you for helping us and the journey to get Mazzie Mae. We appreciate you more than you know!

Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
