I'm Audrey E., the breeder behind North Mountain Kennels located in Strasburg, VA. Temperament tested and health tested parents for hip/elbow dysplasia. As well as genetic testing on over 200 diseases. Breeding stock are imported directly from Europe. My puppy program revolves around creating the most sound animal for whatever your purpose is from birth.

Why did you start breeding?
I am involved in many areas of dogs from breeding to training of all breeds so and I wanted to produce the finest quality puppies to train for families.What makes your program special?
It is small and therefore quality controlled by me. I have a wealth of experience and knowledge of the breed and can see what best suits each individual puppy born. Whether it be for a companion, therapy, sport or law enforcement I help you select the right puppy for your needs and family.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have stock coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable, black, bi-color, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Audrey has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,500 - $6,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Hip Dysplasia

Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Audrey’s knowledge about dog breeding; ie 2 Masters Degrees in dog genetics, and years of experience breeding was very impressive. All that is great, but the proof is in the puppy. Storm is smart and handsome! I am thrilled that I went to Audrey for my pup! Here are pictures, in one, our little storm is cuddled up to our friends dog, Mia. He really is just a great pup!
