Meet the breeder

I'm Shawn J., the breeder behind NorthStar Labradoodles, LLC. located in Bend, OR. Our dogs are hand-picked for their fun, sweet personalities. NorthStar Labradoodles is a family-based and involved business—we consider every family getting one of our pups as family. Welcome!

Q. & A. with Shawn

  • Why did you start breeding?

Australian Labradoodles came into our lives in 2009 when our son Teagan was a toddler and our daughter Payton was on the way. By that time, we had realized that Teagan was allergic to the fur of our two dogs. We researched breeds that were allergy friendly and non-shedding, which led us to the Australian Labradoodle. We first brought home our Dyson and fell in love. Dyson inspired us to form NorthStar Labradoodles.
  • What makes your program special?

We are a true boutique breeding program—small by design, extraordinary by heart. Every dog and puppy receives our undivided love and attention. With intentionally small litters, we ensure each pup gets hands-on training, early socialization, and endless affection from our entire family. No staff, no shortcuts—just us, pouring our passion into raising exceptional companions. This is our labor of love, and it shows in every joyful, well-adjusted NSL pup. Choose the difference only a family can make.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include miniature and medium sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include caramel, red, apricot, chocolate, black, and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
