I'm Ginny V., the breeder behind NW Aloha Miniature American Shepherds located in Florence, OR. We love to responsibly raise and train our puppies so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members. Our mission is to breed the very best dogs that we can, to raise them with love, and to select their future homes with careful attention.
Q. & A. with Ginny
Why did you start breeding?
After falling in love with the Aussie breed I knew I had to have one someday. When we moved to Oregon I acquired my 1st Australian Shepherd “Indian”. After finding out there were Toy and Mini Sizes of the breed I acquired my 1st Mini “Cherokee”. She was the foundation to my program.
What makes your program special?
When taking my Foundation and mixing it with lines from a Breeder in Arizona is where I acquired my Champion “Reno”. He went on to be the #1 MAS for 2018 & 2019, was in the top 10 of the Breed and took Best of Breed at the prestigious show Westminster 2 years in a row. Puppies from his lines have proved to have the best quality and temperaments in the breed. Now his Grandchildren are producing the same qualities in my program.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red tri-color, black tri, red merle, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
