Meet the breeder

I'm Marie R., the breeder behind Nysa Cane Corso located in Charlotte County, FL. We focus on intentional breeding so that we can produce quality puppies that are excellent representations of the standard. Our goal is to ensure every dog that comes from our program is set up to live a happy and healthy life and is prepared for its future role when it leaves our care. We provide each of our pups with lots of socialization and love, and we are dedicated to maintaining responsible breeding policies.

Q. & A. with Marie

  • Why did you start breeding?

I am a small hobby breeder located in Southwest Florida. My love for the corso breed started in 2008 when I got my first black brindle corso Josie. She was the most amazing dog with a exceptional temperament. She was very intelligent, loyal, loving and protective. Everything you could ask for in a dog! She got along great with other dogs, animals, kids and people. Unfortunately at around 12-14 months of age Josie started to have some health problems and was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia. At age 2 Josie tore her acl and had to have multiple knee surgeries and months of recovery. Although Josie recovered well after her surgeries. Knowing what I, and more importantly Josie, had to endure made me want to get involved in bettering this beautiful breed. I wanted people to enjoy these amazing dogs without having the same emotional and financial burdens that we endured with our beautiful Jojo. In 2011 after months and months of research into Cane Corso breeders I was lucky to find a wonderful breeder and mentor. Since 2012 we have been actively involved in AKC conformation, and working dog spots with all of our corso babies!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include gray and fawn, chestnut brindle, black, black brindle, fawn, gray, gray brindle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
